BRECKENRIDGE’S JULY 4TH FIREWORKS STILL ON

Zero tolerance for illegal fireworks remains

Breckenridge, CO – July 1, 2013 – Thanks to Mother Nature who provided some well-needed moisture over the weekend, the Town of Breckenridge is pleased to announce that the July 4th public fireworks display is still on schedule to top off the full slate of Independence Day festivities.  However, the use of any personal fireworks is prohibited, and there will be zero tolerance for illegal fireworks.

Breckenridge’s public fireworks display is slated to follow the National Repertory Orchestra’s patriotic concert at the Riverwalk Center at approximately 9:45 p.m.; indoor reserved tickets are limited and MAY be available through the Box Office (www.BreckenridgeRiverwalkCenter.com), while seating on the lawn remains free.  Fireworks will be shot from the North Gondola Lot and will be visible (conditions permitting) from most parts of Breckenridge.

Earlier today, the Red, White & Blue Fire Protection District lowered the fire danger to Moderate; however, even the smallest spark could lead to a wildfire in the dry forest surrounding the community. The Town asks everyone to keep our fellow Coloradoans and others in the Southwest that are affected by the wildfires around the state in their thoughts.

The full slate of July 4th activities in Breckenridge, includes a 10K trail run, the Arts District Celebration, the Firecracker 50 bike race leading the vibrant Fourth of July Parade on historic Main Street, free afternoon concert with Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, kids' activities and the evening National Repertory Orchestra patriotic concert. In addition, the weekend offers a full slate of concerts, activities, an art show, the Breckenridge PCRA Rodeo and much more.
